Cold weather soup

I live on the Southern East Coast now but I still make the dishes from our family back home. Today it's raining and very windy....remnants of Hurrican Ida. I am going to make posole with one large clove of garlic (smashed and skin taken off), half of a port roast (that has been brazed a little), healthy red chili pods without the trunk (boiled for 10 minutes with 2 cups of water, put in the blender with one clove of garlic, 1 Tbs of flour, 2 cups of water from the chili pods.
