I've been twice now and have really enjoyed it. The Asian/Hawaiian fusion menu offers unique and creative dishes I've found really interesting and well executed on both visits. My only complaint was the temperature at which a bottle of red wine was served on my second visit. They don't appear to have a decent wine storage space (like many small restaurants), so the bottle was served at room temperature; room temperature being wherever it was stored in or near the kitchen, it was served at 78-82 F. I will be back though, it's one of my new favorite places for a nice and intimate dinner. I'd like to hear what others who have tried Mauka have to say.

Cheers

I agree that Mauka is one of the best restaurants in town. The fusion of flavors is always creative, often original .... and well-executed as well. The kitchen's consistency ranks highly in my book, too. How can we beat that? I wonder sometimes if the small space (and relatively small number of diners) is part of what allows it all to shine. I do wish they would reinstate lunch service, though ... I'm out and about much more frequently in daylight than moonlight.
What's your favorite dish there?

Looks like Chef Joel Coleman might be sticking around Santa Fe after all. Buzz is he's got plans for The Green Onion space on St. Michael's Drive.
