Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. This is the time of year we make posole, biscochitos, tamales, and all of our family's favorite comfort foods. OMG There is a Santa Claus.....4 of them!!!!

I called home to Santa Fe to talk to my brothers and my son for Thanksgiving. We were a little sad and very happy to hear from one another. To my surprise my brothers and son are sending me 4 boxes filled with posole, red chile, atole, chicos, pinon and other flavors from my Santa Fe.

My Mom

Today makes 4 months since my Mom passed away. Her family came to New Mexico in 1597 to Santa Cruz, New Mexico. Later on the families moved to Santa Fe and we have been here ever since. My Mother taught me how to cook and she made sure I learned all that she knew. I also learned that the dishes she taught me how to make are a mixture of European Spanish and Native American. I am very proud of my heritage and my State and Country. I am so happy that Santa Fe has finally been put on the map and in… Continue
